Annual Report - Club Year 2006/2007

In the Club year 2006-2007 the Hospitality Committee and I had the great pleasure to welcome and assist our new members to Coffee mornings,Teas and other Club events. At several of these events there were Talks on various interesting topics.

To help the new members to settle in, a Welcome letter was sent to everyone, introducing them to different Club events and with invitations to Luncheons, Coffee mornings etc. The new members were encouraged to take an active part in the IWC, e.g. work in a committee, or join a social activity. At the Luncheons the newcomers were invited to sit with myself or with a Hospitality Committee member if they wished.

For those members who had difficulties to attend daytime activities, “The Blue Hour” offered a possibility to keep in touch with old and new friends. This casual monthly gathering after work or before dinner, was introduced last Club year and was a welcomed and much appreciated evening event. A car pool has been introduced, to help and facilitate the life of members who have difficulties coming to luncheons and other activities.

To organize Coffee mornings, Teas and Blue Hours has been a great pleasure thanks to all the kind and generous ladies who made these events possible. The members of the Hospitality Committee did a wonderful job, always there to help and support and always generous with their time and ideas. A heartfelt Thank You goes to: Mary Beth Connors, Susan Fagerström-Zsabka, Maria Faxander, Kate Graham, Deborah House-Bengtsson, Inge Matthiasson, Ágnes Meszáros, Renate Pfeiffer, Inga Rumert, Kate Wacz, Caroline Wallin and Larisa Östberg-Lilja.

I also wish to thank my creative and hardworking Board colleagues who in their different tasks helped to uphold the spirit of the IWC. A warm Thank You also to club members for their friendship, encouragement and support during this past year.

Belonging to an international club like the IWC, where you have the opportunity to meet with and learn from so many interesting ladies from different backgrounds and age groups is a privilege. It has been a great honour to serve as your
Vice President in charge of hospitality this year.

Respectfully submitted,

Anita Wegelius Bergström
